After-School Program

Elevo - After School Education and Safety PROGRAMS (ASES)

After School Education and Safety (ASES) is a result of a voter initiative passed by taxpayers in 2002 to provide after-school programs in the state of California.  The ASES program funds the Salinas Union High School District's after-school program which is run by our partner, Elevo Learning.

It is our goal to provide students with a rewarding after-school program that promotes social development in a safe and inclusive environment.  Priority enrollment will be given to homeless and foster youth.

Our after-school programs will include:
  • Sports & literacy
  • Homework assistance
  • Group games and physical activities
  • Science projects
  • The K-8 curriculum and program are flexible and can be tailored for each school's needs & for each age group.
  • In addition to teaching SEL competencies, the Middle School programs focus a great deal on confidence & leadership.
  • Our after-school support, our coaches are organizing inclusive, intramural sports for students after-school, in addition to providing homework support & mentorship.
  • They had a lot of success in elevating the mental well-being and physical health of the students our coaches are mentoring. The impact this is having on improving the overall school climate is significant.
